I think I was in college or at least around that time, and needed money. Grandpap said I could come in on a Sunday and mop the floor. He mixed up the bucket. It was mostly bleach, amonia and some Tide soap... I believe. Well, the odor was so strong it burned my eyes and my nose wouldn't stop running. I told him I would look elsewhere for funds. He didn't take kindly to that.

The only time I ever knew he was proud of me was one time Grandma said to me that he was proud that the money I borrowed from him I paid back. She claimed not one other family member who borrowed money paid him back. Go Back
