Since we then lived in Quartz Hill, this must have been a trip to Culver City to see the Jansz Clan.

Grandma Jansz took me to the beach in Venice quite often and we would sit down and watch the Muscle Beach people doing their thing. They did acobatics and the muscle guys would lift the girls above their heads. I only have one memory of that and that was this one girl they all took turns lifting... she had the skimpiest bikini on, I mean skimpy... even now days.

Back then when we would take a trip to the beach, you could smell the change in the air. Now you can't smell it when your on the beach. I'm sure it has something to do with many factors; climate change maybe? Not as many fish in the area due to polution and over fishing? Who knows, somebody does I'm sure.
