Ling Family

Grandma Ling, and a lady by the name of Jane Pinheiro, Started planning the Almon Blossom Festival in about 1948. Grandma had Valerie and I dressed as little Chinese and were pulled along the parade route in a rickshaw in the very first parade. Oh the humility of it all.

Bad enough we had that Chinese last name, but to then dress us up and... oh well.

This was a float I was on in later years. I think Valerie and I and a few of our cousins were in quite a few of the parades. This one was one of the many floats my grandmother put me and my sister and cousins on in both the Quartz Hill Almond Blossom Festival and the Lancaster Fair parades
