This was taken just before I was discharged in 1965. I was stationed at Barber's Point on Oahu. I flew back to San Francisco and Treasure Island, to go thru the discharge procedure. I then flew to Los Angeles. Mom and Wendell picked me up at LAX, and I spent some time with them and my sister Cynthia in Oxnard before going back to Lancaster. I now live and own that Oxnard home. Wendell helped me buy a Volkswagon bug. When I arrived in Lancaster I looked up my friend Jon Hapgood. We lived together for several years before he was married. I went back to JC and that is where I met Denise. Actually we had met years before, well, not actually met cause she was about 3. She would come and swim in my grandparents pool in Quartz Hill.
